NRSE 6210 - Advanced Pathophysiology in Nursing Practice Focuses on analysis of concepts of physiology and pathophysiology and relationship to nursing interventions across lifespan of humans at the advanced practice level.
Requisites: (NRSE 6010 or 6411 or 7802) or concurrent Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 6.0 hours. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to analyze normal physiological parameters of bodily systems across the lifespan.
- Students will be able to apply diagnostic reasoning in assessing and evaluating clients with specific pathophysiological alterations leading to differential diagnoses.
- Students will be able to compare and contrast measurement strategies used by advanced practice nurses to assess and/or monitor human physiological systems.
- Students will be able to describe the epidemiology, etiology, pathophysiology, and clinical and laboratory manifestations of specific disease processes.
- Students will be able to identify the internal and external factors that affect specific physiological states along the health to illness continuum.
