Program Overview: The graduate certificate program is a full-time, 20 credit hour graduate level curriculum. The Performance Certificate is designed for students who wish to focus on an applied curriculum in order to enhance their performance skills. Because it is a non-degree program, students may not concurrently pursue the Master of Music degree. The program requires fewer credit hours and academic courses compared with the Master of Music degree curriculum and offers more flexibility in course selection–which is determined in consultation with the major advisor. Applicants must have an acceptable baccalaureate degree, although exceptions may be considered in cases where applicants can document that they have the equivalent in professional performing experience and meet School of Music academic and performance standards.
