Program Overview: The purpose of the doctorate in Instructional Technology is to develop educational leaders in technology who will improve educational practices and professional development through inquiry. The doctorate is to enhance reflective educational inquiry in four ways:
- a deep understanding of instructional design and instructional technology;
- the understanding of the cultural contexts of technology within curriculum and instruction;
- the use of research tools appropriate to guide the inquiry; and
- application and dissemination of the outcomes/products of inquiry.
Admissions Policy: Applicants will need to supply Graduate Studies with 3 letters of recommendation containing contact information and email address, official transcripts, GRE scores desired score of 1000 and a statement of goals which describe why you wish to be admitted to the program. Applicants are evaluated holistically including past and present field experiences and with reference to the pool of applicants.
Change Policy: No selective or limited admission requirements.
Transfer Policy: No requirements beyond University admission requirements.
Opportunities: The doctoral specialization in Instructional Technology is designed for individuals whose major professional interest is exploring research and theory in instructional and informational technologies
