Both thesis and project options are offered.
Admissions Policy: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field, from an ABET-accredited institution. Scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) general test. For applicants whose native language is not English, scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) are also required. Applicants holding degrees from non-accredited institutions will be more carefully evaluated for admission, and may be required to take additional course work to compensate for deficiencies.
Change Policy: No selective or limited admission requirements.
Transfer Policy: No requirements beyond University admission requirements.
Opportunities: Students with a Master’s degree in EE are generally given more responsibility than those with Bachelor’s degrees in industrial settings. Master’s degree holders may supervise teams and manage projects, and may also work in research and development, along wth or supervised by Doctoral degreed engineers. The Master’s degree is also good preparation for those candidates interested in obtaining Doctoral degrees.
