For specific information about the Master’s Program , see: http://www.cehs.ohio.edu/academics/te/degree-programs/GraduateDegrees.htm

The Master’s (M.Ed.) in Curriculum and Instruction supports the professional interests of teachers who already hold a teaching license or certificate at any grade level, P-12. Teachers in Curriculum and Instruction are typically seeking opportunities to advance their knowledge, skills and dispositions for teaching in their own classrooms, schools, and communities. This program does not lead to an initial teaching license or an additional teaching license. The master’s degree may support renewal of a teaching license or certificate, depending on state and/or school district regulations in place at the time of application for renewal.

Admission requirements for Curriculum and Instruction [ME6269] include a bachelor’s degree with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.90, a Personal Statement of Professional Goals, and an official transcript from any colleges or universities previously attended, other than Ohio University. Applicants may also be asked to provide names and contact information (e-mail addresses) for at least two individuals who have agreed to serve references. International applicants must also submit certified transcripts and proof of financial responsibility. Applicants who have not yet completed the bachelor’s degree may be reviewed for admission, and may be admitted, but will not be able to register for coursework until an official transcript showing conferral of the bachelor’s degree is provided. Candidates may request transfer of up to 5 semester credits from another college or university to partially satisfy requirements for the master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, contingent on relevance of the coursework to the teaching field.

The Curriculum and Instruction program is offered in an online format only. An up-to-date computer with built-in microphone, camera, and reliable Internet access is essential. During the Fall and Spring Semesters, teachers enrolled in this program will be using their own classrooms, schools and/or communities as context and setting for Clinical Experiences. Curriculum and Instruction is an NCATE-Advanced program. We also align with the Core Propositions of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS), the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession (OESB), and the Conceptual Core of the Unit for Preparation of Education Professionals (U-PEP) at Ohio University.
