SPAN 3915 - Internship for Spanish Majors This course involves linguistic, cultural and environmental immersion while introducing the student to professional experiences in Hispanic cultures.
Requisites: SPAN 3120 Credit Hours: 3 OHIO BRICKS: Bridge: Learning and Doing Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 6.0 internship Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to connect relevant cultural experiences to their academic knowledge of Hispanic cultures and the Spanish language.
- Students will be able to identify how their Spanish language proficiency and knowledge of cultural perspectives relate to their professional interactions in the Hispanic workplace.
- Students will be able to adapt and apply problem solving and critical thinking skills gained in the workplace to career paths relating to Spanish and Hispanic cultures.
- Students will be able to articulate in both oral and written form reports of their professional experiences using formats, language, or visual representations that enhance meaning.
- Students will be able to demonstrate a developing sense of self as a learner and expand on the cultural experience as it relates to future interests and challenges in Spanish and Hispanic cultures.
