COMM 3810 - Communication Field Studies Away Students travel with Ohio University faculty to the target location to explore specific communication issues, topics, and theories.
Requisites: Jr or Sr Credit Hours: 3 OHIO BRICKS: Bridge: Learning and Doing Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 seminar Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to describe communicative and cultural nuances of the target geographic location.
- Students will be able to identify the cultural nuances in the target geographic location.
- Students will be able to demonstrate communication behaviors that are culturally appropriate in the target geographic location.
- Students will be able to analyze messages, communication experiences, and communicative contexts in the target geographic location using relevant communication theories.
- Students will be able to identify and critique the contemporary and historical significance of major landmarks in the target geographic location after having visited them.
- Students will be able to describe their developing sense of self as a learner.
