SASM 2920 - The Sport Experience: Practicum Practicum is a field experience that allows students to observe and document how professionals in the sports and entertainment industry perform their job responsibilities and relate that to their individual career goals.
Requisites: Sports Management Major only and Permission Required Credit Hours: 1 - 6 OHIO BRICKS: Bridge: Learning and Doing Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 6.0 hours. Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 practicum Grades: Eligible Grades: F,CR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to apply knowledge learned from previous course work to real-world situations.
- Students will be able to perform sport management duties under the supervision of a practicing sport or entertainment manager.
- Students will be able to use practical experience to evaluate their interest in an area of the sport and entertainment industry.
- Students will be able to describe professional expectations in the sport industry.
- Students will be able to demonstrate their multi-modal communication abilities to describe their experiential learning experience in the sports and entertainment industry.
- Students will be able to reflect on their practicum experience to identify career interests in the sport and entertainment industry.
