ECEE 2301 - Integrated Curriculum in Early Childhood Education This course examines cognition, teaching, learning outcomes, and standards in each of the seven early childhood curriculum areas, the methods to integrate curriculum areas, and methods to assess early childhood learning in early childhood. Students learn the selection, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of early childhood activities and materials.
Requisites: ECEE 2001 concurrent, Teacher Candidacy, and admission to Early Childhood and Elementary Education or Child Development major Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to describe approaches to curriculum integration in children birth through kindergarten entry.
- Students will be able to design and implement developmentally-appropriate activities for children birth through kindergarten entry in the seven early childhood curriculum areas.
- Students will be able to apply constructivist teaching methods and practices in early childhood classrooms.
