AT 1100 - Orthopedic Prophylactic and Bracing Techniques Introduction to the theory behind prophylactic and bracing techniques and application of various taping, bracing, wrapping, and padding techniques used to prevent and treat orthopedic injuries.
Requisites: C or better in AT 1001 Credit Hours: 1 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 laboratory Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - The student will be able to apply the appropriate taping technique to an extremity.
- The student will be able to properly fit and apply the appropriate brace to an extremity.
- The student will be able to apply the proper wrapping technique to an injury.
- The student will be able to apply the proper padding technique to an injury.
- The student will be able to make evidence-based decisions regarding the application of prophylactic and bracing techniques.s
