EDSE 3500 - Secondary School Planning and Management of Instruction This course develops students’ knowledge, skills, and dispositions for the teaching profession in a changing world, including the skills to systematically design, implement, evaluate, and reflect on secondary school teaching and learning to support higher order thinking abilities among children. It addresses the standards and competencies required for teacher licensure, including alignment of various instructional methods (e.g., direct instruction, cooperative learning, and effective classroom management) with theories of learning, motivation, and affect. It also addresses differentiation of content and instruction and the importance of collaboration with guardians, community members, and other education professionals to support all students through an early field experience.
Requisites: EDTE 3730 concurrent and Admission to Advanced Standing Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
