Ohio University offers curricula in more than 250 undergraduate majors leading to bachelor’s or associate’s degrees through nine colleges: Arts and Sciences, Business, Communication, Education, Engineering and Technology, Fine Arts, Health Sciences and Professions, Honors Tutorial, and University. Programs are also offered through the Center for International Studies, eCampus, the Graduate College, the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs, and Regional Higher Education. The Graduate College coordinates graduate study at Ohio University.
Ohio University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) (formerly the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Institutions of Higher Education). While some of the University’s academic programs are accredited by over 30 of their own specialized accreditors, Ohio University as a whole is accredited by HLC; all of the University’s programs and units are covered by this institutional-wide accreditation. HLC offers three different pathways to institutional accreditation. They are the Standard Pathway, the Open Pathway, and the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) pathway. Ohio University has been in AQIP since 2002. The next Reaffirmation of Ohio University’s accreditation is scheduled for 2023-24.

eCampus offers innovative alternative educational opportunities and experiences for traditional and nontraditional students, including those who may not be able to come to an Ohio University campus.
Opportunities abound through eCampus to earn college credit, a degree, continuing education units (CEUs), or study something of interest. eCampus works to deliver educational opportunities that integrate life, work, and learning to students of all ages in various locations.
Oversees all graduate education at Ohio University, including masters and doctoral degrees, graduate certificates, and non-degree programs for study beyond the bachelor’s degree. The Graduate College also awards interdisciplinary graduate degrees in Individualizes Study (IIP) and Translational Biomedical Science.

A renowned degree–granting college with 38 programs of study. Honors Tutorial College students undergo a rigorous and exhilarating academic experience that combines a set of tutorials, upper–division classes, and selected graduate courses. In order to allow students to pursue this challenging form of undergraduate education, Honors Tutorial College students are exempt from General Education requirements, except English composition. A high percentage of the students in this college enter graduate or professional school. You may request consideration for admission to the Honors Tutorial College and must indicate a program of study at the time of application.

Regional campuses provide access to Ohio University degree programs for commuting students throughout southeastern Ohio. Students may attend classes at regional campuses in Chilicothe, Ironton, Lancaster, St. Clairsville, and Zanseville, and at centers in Pickerington and Proctorville, or access classes through distance technologies. Students enrolled in applied management, criminal justice, communication studies, early childhood education, middle childhood education, health services administration, history, human biology, nursing, social work, specialized studies, sport and lifestyle studies, and technical and applied studies can complete the entire baccalaureate degree program on a regional campus. The Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees are available on all campuses, and an array of technical programs leading to either the Associate in Applied Business or the Associate in Applied Science is available on most campuses. Students interested in pursuing other baccalaureate degrees not offered at the regional campuses can complete up to the first two years of nearly all of the baccalaureate majors available at Ohio University, before relocating to the Athens campus to complete their degrees.
